The AGU-SEG Airborne Geophysics Workshop is being held to share advancements and applications of airborne geophysics for ground water, mineral, IMG_5627_SjyTEM-AGU_SEG.pngpetroleum, geotechnical and hazards investigations. The Workshop will be held at the Florida Atlantic University Davie campus in the Davie West building.

The development and application of airborne geophysics is rapidly accelerating. Airborne methods are increasingly used for groundwater assessment, natural resource exploration and large-scale geotechnical investigations. The workshop will provide a venue for participants to learn about new instrumentation, interpretation software, and applications of Airborne methods to solve diverse real- world problems. Two optional pre-workshop short courses are being offered. Airborne Electromagnetic Data Processing and Inversion pre-course workshop will be held on 9-10 June. The purpose of the course is to provide the participants with an insight into the ideas and theories behind processing and inversion of AEM data. The focus is on high resolution datasets collected for geological (mineral exploration), hydrological, and geotechnical purposes. From AEM Data to 3D Hydrogeological Conceptual Model is a one day short course being held on 10 June. This one day “hands-on” course goes through the practicalities of building a 3D conceptual model from scratch using AEM and other data types by combining cross-sections, GIS maps and 3D visualization in the interpretation process – with the focus on how to get the most out of your AEM data.
